Anna Rosario Oposa
Anna Rosario Oposa co-founded Save Philippine Seas, a movement to protect the world’s richest marine resources by harnessing the power of social media and lobbying for the enforcement of environmental laws, in 2011. She also co-founded Isko Cleans UP, a waste management program based in the University of the Philippines – Diliman.
Oposa was among three young global shapers selected to attend the Jan. 25-29, 2012, World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland. On March 22, 2012, Anna received the Future for Nature Award in the Netherlands. She is the first Filipino and youngest recipient of the prestigious award.
While still a student, Oposa represented the Philippines at the U.N. Climate Change Conference in Cancun, Mexico, 35th Ship for the Southeast Asian Youth Program and Denso Youth for Earth Action.
